Description
Commencing at the northeast corner of West Leonard and Quarry Streets, thence
north on the east line of said Quarry Street 100 ft., thence east parallel with
the north line of said W. Leonard Street 60 feet, thence south parallel with the
said east line of Quarry Street 100 feet, to the north line of said West Leonard
Street, thence west 60 feet to the place of beginning. CE

The building still stands at the corner of Leonard and Quarry.
It was right across the street from an A & W rootbeer stand.
I explored this building before it was remuddled. Upstairs was the sleeping
quarters. At the back of the big room was a row
of wooden lockers. One of the lockers was really a hidden door that gave access
to the hay loft. The horses were kept downstairs off Quarry Avenue, while the
engines were kept under the sleeping quarters off Leonard.
Has been modernized, at least downstairs, and all the beautiful old woodwork is gone, gone, gone.

City of Grand Rapids - Plainfield Avenue Fire Station was built in 1951as #14 at 2251 Plainfield near Knapp St. NE but was renamed #9 in 2007. It is a small two-story building.

A realtor card states wood floors, no sprinklers, brick construction, first floor ceiling height 9', 2nd floor 10', 3000 sq. ft. on each floor, two unisex bathrooms.
