1902 - First mentioned in the Annual Report ending Sept 1902, lot 264' x 300'

 

Lots 1-9 and 20-27 of Block 2 of Campbell and Underwood's Winsor Park Addition platted in 1890 by Skeels for James Campbell and DeWitt Underwood.. .

Winsor street renamed Dallas, Newland renamed Neland, Carlton renamed Alto, Columbus renamed Cooper, Nelson renamed Niagara.

 

1901 - built

This photo was in a brochure c. 1975 when this school was replaced.  

1907 Section 32 Ogle GRT

1914 - added a new lot adjoining (for an) Addition - two fire escapes to be installed. New addition.

                   

I am assuming the same addition was put onto both East Leonard and Alexander..

1921 Annual Report - old 11th ward - lots 1-7 and 21-27 Block 2 of Campell & Underwood's Windsor Park Addition

 

1924 - gym addition completed

1953 Sanborn Fire Map Pg 378 shows the original school dated 1901 with the 1914 addition and the 1920 concrete addition. The lot addresses are shown as 1010 Alexander St SE while the additional land lot addresses are shown as 1028 and 1032 Dallas Ave SE and 1029 Neland Ave SE.

Existing square feet: 46,700
Proposed new square feet: 5,100
Cost: $3.1 million
Highlights: a $585,000 addition of a multipurpose room, restrooms, offices and storage space; $1.5 million to renovate classrooms and coridors and install new heating and upgraded electric systems, and $192,500 for computers and video equipment.
