1913 Sanborn map as annotated by assessor's: As you can see there were still many homes around this school even when I was a kid.
housed in the old Central High School on Ransom. Assessor's has drawn in the gym which still stands today (2006)
1915 - Grand Rapids News 3 August 1915 p. 3 Sprinkler systems to cost $5000 were ordered installed.
1953 Sanborn Fire Map shows this building as part of Grand Rapids Junior College. Although the gym still exists the rest of the building was demolished for a library and I think all the houses are gone too. It is marked in blue.
